Hi, does someone knows where I could get a PH5a target sight for a SMLE? Could also be another producer of SMLE target sights. Thanks for your help! Thomas |

Australia produced more than their fair share of SMLE sights: Central and Mues immediately spring to mind along with copies of the Central produced in England.
I would also be inclined to look at some of the early produced folding sights, one of them designed and produced some 14 years after the P-H 5a was introduced!

Join an Australia or New Zealand based gunboard and check their 'for sale' ads. I currently have a spare PH5A but I'm hoping to trade it for a micrometer peep sight for a CLLE with another collector.

BSA/Parker-Hale/A.G. Parker or A.J. Parker are some others to search for. The folding ones Like the Parkers & BSA'a
neeed an adapter, make sure you get the right one for an SMLE, not the
more common one for the earlier marks & models without the SMLE type
safety. The Australian sights are nice, but even rarer than the P-H ones here in the U.S. ![]() I'd try Googling the above names list & see what pops up! This guy is a good source for all of them, try him first. If nothing else he's a mine of information on the niceties of getting the right items. Importing & exporting might be a problem though. I sold a PH5A to a member on here in France & they hammered him on import fees when it arrived but otherwise pretty straightforward. Australian "Central No4" & "universal mount plate" ![]() P-H 5a with 6 hole aperture eyepiece disk. ![]() BSA No9W (the best one for the SMLE) in a "close up SMLE mount plate" Open ![]() folded shut ![]() I hope this gives you some pointers or ideas. |

I have one I’m going to sell but shipping overseas is expensive. I just sold some No4 sights to artiozen at the last show.
