I’ve had this rear sight since I brought home my Dads assorted parts from various rifles. I didn’t know what it was for until I came across this photo in Skennertons book (page 271). According to Skennerton, its a target sight for a Pattern 1914 No. 2 rifle, .22 Mark IV. A No. 10A aperture sight. It is windage adjustable, similar to the Ross rifle aperture sight. HWC (Harold W. Cooey) manufactured. Likely used for small bore competition. I don’t know why Dad had this sight, I don’t think he had a No. 2 rifle in .22.  |

It looks identical to the rear sight on my M-10 Ross rifle. I don't like it as much as the No.4 Lee Enfield sight but it works not bad. ------------- The Lee Enfield is to the Canadian north what the Winchester repeater was to the American west. Cal Bablitz |
