I have a table reserved at the range for Wednesday.  I will be testing my Custom No4 chambered for the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge.

The bullet being tested is the Norma 180grn Vulkan. The test loads are as such.
Powder: Norma 202  Minimum charge weight of 39.0grns
Bullet: .308 180grn Norma Vulkan  Case Winchester
Primer WLRM  Bullet seating depth 0.450" and a C.O.L. 2.705"

The rifle being tested used to be my 45ACP converted rifle. It has been converted back to a more conventional hunting rig and will be kept as such. The scope mount, base and rings are Parker Hale with RALS3 low profile scope rings used in conjunction with a Nikko Stirling 4-12×50  AO IR MD Mountmaster for optics.  This will be my only hunting cartridge and as such, I will keep it as reliable and accurate as possible.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

I have plans to add an old Remington front and rear sight set to it in the near future as well.

Very interesting projectile profile! I like the concept. Looking forward to your report on the testing.

I have no doubt that they will do as they are designed to do. My concerns rest within the rifle itself.

i always heard that the lower mount was what you sought to achieve , ive not run out of travel on any of my scopes but i heard that could be an issue with too high a mount

It helps me with a constant cheek weld having the scope mounted as low as possible.

Looks good Goosic!
I used the Vulcans in the 6.5  x 55 for many years and it is an excellent bullet.
Please share your results when you try it out.
Velocity appears V similar to .303 with the Norma  202.
