I've only ever loaded the PPU 174gr FMJBT projectile but found some 150's and 180 PPU spire point BT's. (the boat tail is very slight, almost a flat bottom bullet) Picked up a couple hundred so I'll be interested to see how they perform. Anybody ever try these? Thanks! (I use PPU brass.)

I've used the 180 gr SP, my '14 Beezer likes them & so does my No5.
I haven't tried them in the No4 Mk2 or the Lithy SMLE.

I've used the 180g PPU soft point factory load which I assume is loaded with the same bullet you're talking about. The factory loads shot very well out of one of my No1 Mk3's. I haven't shot them over a bench rest, but I can hold a 3 inch group shooting prone unsupported at 100 yards. That's about as good as I can do these days with standard open sights and my aging eyes. I thought they were very good for factory loads. Hand loads with the same bullet should be just as good, if not better.

My idea of gun control is hitting what I aim at and nothing else.

Thanks, gents! I really like the PPU brass and the projectiles were available in Canada so I thought I'd stock up. My local supplier is kinda low on H4895 (none) and primers (had three boxes of 100, would only sell me two.)

I haven’t had to buy bullets in a few years.  I was looking on line to see if anyone had Hornady 174 HPBT Match and was shocked at the price increase!  $100 more per box of 500 since the last time I bought match bullets.  I just might have to resort to cast bullet loads….
