so far im adding a couple of my US 22s , the top one is an M1903-A4gery [an A3 with weaver 330 scope added that was converted to 22cal with a custom made 16" insert i had fabricated by a machinist friend [and japanese collector of renown ]

the lower is a springfield NRA 1919 model that was intended to mimick the M1garand rifle

here are my [from top to bottom ] Cno7 mkI 1945 Longbranch , no2 mkIV* converted from a 1910 BSA mkIII in the early 20s , and  the last but favorite to me is my Cond II converted in 1912 from a Enfield made MLM mkII dated 1892 ,

the last came with the box mag but as converted these did not have that , the empties dropped free rather than being collected in the box mag she!!

the top one is a 1968 Colt US M16 upper on a DPMS lower fitted with 1968 furniture that sports a 22cal conversion bolt and a copy of the correct scope , i do have a 556 bolt for it too , it is semiauto only [but i would love to have the three round burst - just not the expense of the tax stamp and such]

the bottom is my Cooey Mod 82 canadian trainer made in 1944 , i succeded in finding the rear peep sight that makes it a no4 trainer , it came with the rear ramp sight that makes it a no1 trainer,

this is the conversion unit i designed and had roy make me for the M1903A3

Never have had, nor probably will have, a Lee Enfield .22 Trainer. But I absolutely love my M82 Cooey and think it is one of the most simple, rugged, reliable and classic looking "non-LE" . 22 trainers oot there... but as a once proud (and hopefully after our next election proud again) Canuck I'm probably extremely biased!

New Zealand issue. “3031” On disc and knox. TWICE ON RECEIVER. Sling is “Wrights Ltd 1918” and original.”5 and 28” on butt disc. Mk III walnut volley forearm.
A.G Parker Birmingham modified. Aussie issued, Butt and know read 2 MD 338. 9/18 on butt. Buttplate is solid steel with no oiler/pull-thru inlet. Looks long term.

VERY rare to find in the USA Ishapore .22. I have only seem one other for sale and it was online in 20 years. SMOOTH bolt action. Beautiful early Ishapore wood dowling forearm. And stock set.

Pre-”C No. 7” example. Includes a proper transit case with painted over marking ($200+)
Bought as a barreled action from an Auction by Springfield Sporters circa 2004. 70% complete

unfortunately for me i doubt I`ll ever own one of these save being gifted one.
Current Canadian pricing is to the moon for these.
A good collector friend of mine was just gifted a  short MkII with the uber rare  Hiscock-Parker https://www.rifleman.org.uk/Enfield_Rifle_RF_Short_Mks_1_and_2.html#anchor4293899196" rel="nofollow -   repeater magazines. Came from an estate collection, some guys have all the luck.

You recognize well. At the time of the trade I vowed to you it would have a proper long term home with and that I was not out to flip it.

I hope you still have the 1942 NZ issued Long Branch I traded you?

I had one similar until 2-3 years ago when I traded it for a "FF" marked matching. Fianna Fial 1918 BSA III*

"Has Irish "Fiana Fail" double F in a circle logo on the the barrel under the the rear handguard."

The last pic is your former rifle on the left with a Brit No.7 on the right.

Hi Mike, Shockingly, in my entire Lee-Enfield collection I own only two No.4's. A MINTY SA issued 1942 Savage No.4 Mk I and and a unrestorable 1941 0L78xx Long Branch that I am making into a deer rifle.

Savage - "Includes SA marked sling, action cover, Brass oiler, UZI No.4 bayonet, MECAR grenade launcher with holster. British Lend Lease “U.S. Property”. (Add $350)"

"Kalamazoo, MI 2002 (Shoulder purchase at gun show) Traded a mismatched and cracked P’14 for it!"

Long Branch - "Shortened ‘42 barrel. Missing the charger bridge. Early Example. Has early Long Branch round cocking piece. Butt has cheek piece. Fazakerley micrometer rear sight."

I know folks. OT from .22's. I will refrain future.

Dave

I love the .22 trainers!  Only have two but my Canadian stamped LSA Sht. 22 MkIV has the Cooey rear sight which is kind of rare.  The other is a BSA Sht 22 MkIV* with a PH5A  sight since added

Not an Enfield .22, just a relative which I don't love as much!  A War Office Pat. 1907 Training Rifle marked to the Durban Light Infantry. Note Para. 2 in the accompanying document from our Military Archives.

I do occasionally use this rifle loaded with a .22 round from which the bullet has been removed and replaced with No.9 shot. Very effective against garden-invading birds!

Same. Used with a special attachment to the rifle for some Canadian .22 Lee-Enfield trainers.
