I was close to you back in 1978, at La Spetzia, installing our photo lab on The Cunard Princess!
Then again later updating a new photo printing machine I'd modified extensively at the Durst Factory in Bolzano.Star

Star

Welcome Claudio from Atlanta, Georgia.

I used to travel to Italy a few times a year (Rome and Pisa), I miss those trips.  Loved the food and the people!  But, no way would I drive a car over there, I'd be run over.

I enjoyed La Spetzia.
She was built 1975 by the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burmeister_%26_Wain" rel="nofollow - Burmeister & Wain shipyard in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copenhagen,_Denmark" rel="nofollow - Copenhagen, Denmark for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cunard_Line" rel="nofollow - Cunard Line as MS Cunard Conquest, but her interior fittings were subsequently installed at the https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Navali_Mechaniche_Affini&action=edit&redlink=1" rel="nofollow - Navali Mechaniche Affini in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Spezia" rel="nofollow - La Spezia , Italy

I didn't work for durst. Sorry if I was misleading.
I worked with many Durst photo-printers over the years.
M5/8
HS 75/78
& 501's.
I modified some of them, quite extensively, for shipboard use.
One we added a "Technics" Mini Hi-Fi setup in the drawers for the negative carriers & rigged the wiring within the cabinet. When we returned to thre factory for maintenance we unplugged the stereo system & they couldn't work out what all the extra wiring was.Star
We'd also upgraded the lighting & added a bank of controls for manual control if color filters & exposure metering.
If you're familiar with Durst we may have been the inspiration for the "VFFX" & "FFFX" features on the later machines.
