I recently acquired this Enfield which is pretty rough and appears to have been a trainer for disassembly and reassembly. Any information and/or resources would be appreciated. Since this is my first post on the forum, I will add photos once my post is approved.Smile

From what I've found so far, it was built in Lithgow, 1943.

photos are nice - you cut off some of what we need to help you out - we need a photo of the 
right wrist that will id the mfgr , date and mark , 
the left side of the forearm it will id if this was a late mkIII or mkIII* 
these will help you get your answers , i could say by the date you give it is such and such , but im not certain so ill wait for better data , we have ausies here that know more of lithgows than i but at this point we are not certain thats what it is yet ,

MA on the stock would indicate Lithgow.  Australian WWII government factories were all prefixed with M.

The small arms factory at Bathurst was assigned MB.  I have a two page document that list them all but of course, it will not upload.  I'll email it to Shamu and see if he can work his magic Clown

Hey guys 
MA =Lithgow
BA =Bathurst (the location of the world best touring car race )
OA =Orange 
FA =Forbes 
These are all towns in regional NSW and parts where made there and sent to Lithgow for assembly that’s why you see many different stamps on assembled rifles .
