Evening everyone,

Retired from the Army after 25 years (happy birthday US Army), just retired from my 2nd career after 20 years.

I’ve been using firearms for all my adult life.  I started out the building part by building my own CAR15 (Oly Arms parts picked up at their shop) almost 45 years ago and have been assembling ARs, FALs, M1 carbines, M1 Garands, BM59 series for a while.

I got my 1st Ishapore 12 years as payment for fixing a friend’s AR.  I acquired a 2nd one several years ago that needed rescuing from a bubba build.

I’ve acquired a bunch of parts and tools for the stuff I “tinker” with.  I picked up several 2A1 barrels a couple of years ago as spares.

Currently have several projects in the works, an M1A1 carbine, 7.62 M1 Garand using a BM59 drop down gas cylinder and op-rod, another BM69 project, several FAL and AR projects.

I’m tossing this out, I have these two Ishapore barrels and am looking for a project idea.  One idea is to make a 2A1 tanker/Bulldog.

Another idea is to use some other receiver, but no idea what might work.

Any ideas from the 2A experts?

A Delisle Carbine project would be an interesting build.

I have a No1 MK III receiver that would work. It has a broken rear leg that needs to be welded.

Now you need a Tommy gun barrel and a custom mag holder for the M1911A1 mag.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

PaddyO,  I do in fact have a M1928a1 kit, a Philly Ord display receiver and an extra complete lower.

Are the 2A1 barrel threads compatible with No I Mk III receiver?

I am unsure if the threads are the same.

Maybe some one with more smarts than me, like Hoadie, would know.

I'm not sure but I think so.
The Indians used regular SMLE receivers & had British equipment.
