he!!o. I started work on designing a 3D printed bandoleer made of TPU flexible filament. That stuff is practically indestructible! You can't tear it apart by hand, too strong, even a thin strip. Each pouch is 88mm wide and will take five hours to print and use 69g of filament, for a finished product of 48g (after removing support).  So for 80 rounds, 16 chargers, it will be 1.4m long (55.4") and weigh 768g (1.7Lbs) without the hinges (TBD). You can of course use as many pouches as you want. I will print a test pouch Friday night to test the fit and determine the location of the fastener hole, which is missing at this time. The flap is 1mm thick. Walls are 2.5mm, probably overkill. There are two holes in the bottom for drainage. The holes for the hinges are 4mm. Spacers would work great, 40x4mm, with bolts and 8mm washers, easy to find on Aliexpress. Hopefully the TPU will be durable enough while holding the weight of the ammunition... It's not like I'm going to be running around wearing it anyway, LOL, so no idea how to test that... Best part it, you can use any colour filament you want, from olive drab to fluorescent-rainbow  Suggestions welcome! The STL file will be available of course  Gil. |

That's an interesting project! Amazing technology in the 3D printing. I have an original bandolier with the original rounds still in it. Parachuted as part of a delivery to the Resistance in Eure et Loir. ------------- It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice! |

Thanks guys, I'm out of TPU filament right now, but should get some next week. I'll print the first one to determine where to put the hole in the flap so that it closes properly over the charger, then print the rest. I will of course post updates here on the project. Gil.

I used Turbocad at work (recently retired) we had a Formlab Machine a Stratasys J55 The Formlabs allowed for a variety of materials but the J55 (Super expensive) had very high resolution and could make multi color models. Hi guys  I haven't given up on this project, just printed a prototype. It's three different colors, ignore that. Here it is with a clip inside:  I wanted to print a prototype to check for size and determine the position of the hole in the flap. Turns our, I could have made it a bit shorter to make gripping the clip easier, oh well, it's loose enough to grab it. I might change it a bit, we'll see... Maybe I'll put a big hole in the flap to inset a finger and pull on it.  I ordered the M2.5x4x40 spacers, M2.5 screws and washers. Now I'll see if I can get some olive TPU filament and later report back.. Gil.

That is a very interesting idea... With two, I could have a space in between for a belt.. That means no spacers/screws/washers... The problem would be how to print it, meaning, the supports needed to bridge the horizontal spans. Making it just wider would work, but then there would be little advantages. I'll print a full bandoleer like that, then we'll see. I found some olive-color TPU filament on Amazon and will see if I can buy a spool.. Gil.
