Subject: Rear Flip Sight for a Jungle Carbine

A customer brought in a Golden State Arms Santa Fe Jungle Carbine MK1 (looks like MD 12011) Ser# 9596 with a missing rear sight. From what I have read - the rear flip sight was notoriously brittle and is often broken easily. I found a listing on Apex Gun Parts (SKU # ENF-17829) but they are out of stock. I'm searching other sources I know of, but so far no luck.
I'm new to this forum so forgive me...
I do not see a way to attach an image,

The rear sight appears to support 2 sights. A flip sight held in with a screw and possibly an elevation sight held in with a post on either side that would drop into the sight mount.

I am looking for a replacement flip sight and a schematic if anyone may know if a source.
I have been looking for several days and no luck so far.
Thank you,

There used to be an explanation of doing pictures, but Shamu will probably be along shortly to explain it. We will need to see the rifle in question but this sounds like one of the No 4's that Golden State converted to look like a Jungle Carbine. They did this conversion with a lot of No 4 and No 1 rifles.

So, the Jungle Carbine 800 yard graduated rear sight is exceptionally hard to find. You can just use one for a No 4. I suggest the Mark 1 type as listed on this page under No 4 Rifle Sight Examples:  https://www.milsurps.com/enfield.php?pg=ti14.htm" rel="nofollow - https://www.milsurps.com/enfield.php?pg=ti14.htm

You will also need the Rear Sight Plunger, Rear Sight Plunger Spring, Rear Sight Axis Pin and Rear Sight Axis Pin Retaining Pin. Those parts I'm referring to are marked 24-27 in the image on this old post:  https://www.enfield-rifles.com/rear-sight-wanted_topic10137.html%20" rel="nofollow - https://www.enfield-rifles.com/rear-sight-wanted_topic10137.html . For parts, check with BRP Guns, Liberty Tree Collectors or Numrich. They all sell some Enfield parts.

The axis retaining pins went out of stock a long time ago. I have tried for years to acquire one or more with no luck. I use tapered pins now, they work.

Finishing nails with the point cut off & the end rounded slightly!
If its a Santa Fe No 1 JC you're in trouble, I'm afraid.
That fantasy gun used no rear sight from any model of Lee Enfield ever made, instead they fabricated their own aftermarket part which was attached to the standard SMLE charger bridge.

Oh yes.
Even the "5-shot" semi-flush fitting ones fetch a pretty penny nowadays.
