our property ,

put up with the chipmunks digging under the sidewalks and squirrels driving the dog nuts , the deer pooping all over the lawn , the woodchucks digging up the shed and riverbank , the turkeys and geese and ducks crapping on the lawn ,

but in getting just a little irritated now - a few years back wife and i put ut cristmas lights on the evergreens in back , - that year was bad snow and deer didnt have enough to eat so they ate the evergreens and they ate the christmas lights , we accepted that ,

a year or so ago we put up festoon lights out back , today i had to "FUX" them because they quit working last night , come to find out some critter [squill] chewed the cord in half - i hate working on ladders and this was 12 feet in the air , i got it fixed but im thinking im gonna strt shooting squils - obviously bit it when it wasoff or there would have been a body i could have desecrated [let the dog throw around ,

thats four days of a week and had to fix something three of the four , today i couldnt fix the fourth cause we needed to order parts so thats still on my list

We get those critters here as well, racoons too. Darned squirrels are probably the worse of them all. My high velocity pellet rifle takes care of most of them. Some stupid city ordnance about not discharging a firearm in public places like neighborhoods took the fun out of shooting a .22 rifle. Technically, my pellet rifle is a firearm, it shoots at over 500 FPS. We have a small herd of deer that frequent the green spaces, even if there is snow on them. They pick at the grasses and low lying tree branches and poop everywhere. Last winter there was a mid-sized black bear that was wandering around and scared all the moms with kids, lol. Many many coyotes here, I haven't seen nor heard that many since moving to Alberta from BC.

used to have the racoons but not so much these days , i understand of the firearms restriction , we have it as well , im thinking a silencer might be in order , i like the critters but when they make woerk for me im less fond of them , not had a bear yet , we did have a coyote once for a bit ,

I put a trail camera in our back garden, apart from the neighbours cat and pheasants, we have recently been seeing a Stoat in the night time photos. At least that's what it looks like, from the images that we have.

A few years ago I had a photo of my neighbour, in the garden with a shotgun, looking up into the big tree at the end.

Probably thinking about bagging a pheasant that lives in the garden.

We have problems with critters too but with different species. Armadillos like to dig up our lawn looking for grub worms at night. We also have a female Bobcat that has been feasting on the rabbits in our back yard that she has become quite comfortable on our property, lazily lounging on the grass while her three kits play. Deer used to be common but with all the new homes and construction in the area we don't see them anymore, at least around here. Coyotes abound and we still see the odd Road Runner streaking by. Squirrels are the bane of every country. We have several species of owls and hawks in the area which help to keep mice and rabbit populations down and Mississippi Kites which try to keep the Cicadas in check.

Lots of deer, coyotes, pigs and turkeys in my part of the wood.

Never seen a chipmunks but have lots got tree rats, trash pandas, and possiums.
