G'day lads,

I need some advice, if you can give it ... I am currently doing research on my Grandfather who was a member of the Shiny 9th ( Royal Sussex Regiment ) in Burma during WW2 ... I want to request his service records but don't really know who to contact first or where to start? There is also a small matter of requesting medals also.

Any help, advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to PM me or contact direct at psi_fan@yahoo.com

Best, Simon

Tiki;
Royal Legion should be able to help you with the medal issue.(Royal Cdn Legion is VERY good with that,here.Since ours is a copy of Royal Legion-I imagine it would be similar).
For what its worth

They have service officers.they chase down pensions,outstanding monies, housing /support for vets & dependants etc...& are the ONLY vehicle available in chasing down/replacing stolen/lost/missing medals.
They are akin to your RSL.these people are ex-vets themselves.Volunteers for the position, & are incredibly helpful.
In this situation, they cud be your best ally.
