Yep Dave The wage and secure job is what i told the Kid and if you dont mind running 5 to 10 miles in the morning for PT its not that bad of a job, really when we were back in the rear it was OK and just reguler business. Unless your Squade leader or Platton Sergent was a But Kisser and voluntierd every one for all the duty to make his Brown Nose Points for his good standing. I had one E-5 squad leader that was X-Marine( Nothing against the Marines My Dad was a Corporal in WW-2 with the Marines, could have shot profesional for them in compatition if not for the war, he could shoot with the best!) well that Squade leader would drop us and make us do push ups every time the CO came out his Office just to show the control he had over us and to get his Brownie points. unfortunatly for him they made me the Co's Driver not long after he took over the squad, wich kinda ticked him off.
But to get back to Redneck I think it would be good for the Kid, a structured Life style, and disapline. he needs to learn to control his temper, cant say much on that, they helped me a lot, and the harsh conditions? well ya gotta take the bad with the good. and the Millitary wether you stay in or get out after you do your time will give you a leg up on life. Taught me to never give up. if you want some thing you have to earn it, and work toward it/for it. I think every youngster should do at least a 3 year stay in the Millitary after school, just to learn to appreciait what you have as freedomes in our every day life, some kids more than others . but every one of them should get a tast. I think it would produce a better out look on life and less leaches and whiners, and the exuses that people use like No one will help me,or where is my money that the Gov. owes me... exc.. Case in point-- look what happend after Katrina in New Orleans... some times you have to suck it up and move on to help your self and friends get things done when the times get hard, No one showed up at my house from FEMA or any other Gov. sector to help, we relied on each others help and turned around and helped our selves in this neighbor hood, we got things done and the Gov. never even put in a dime. Hell im heating the house from the trees that were blown down around here for Katrina and Rita we got hit by both of them, not as hard as most people but we had it bad too. I attribuit my resolve to my Millitary experience that helped me take controle of my situaition and go forward. wwe didnt hang around whining about not getting help. we helped ourselves. thats what a lot of people need to learn. and i say that Millitary service will give them that resolve. team work and if there is no one for the team go forth by your self and compleat the mission no matter how hard it is.......
