Well, here in the "Banana Belt" of the Great White North, the weather is the wierdest. Two days ago, it was the coldest in four years. Then it proceeded to warm up..so much so that by 0600 Toronto had already set all time high records. At 0700, it was 60 F on my back deck..& the sun wasn't up yet!!Supposed to keep gettin warmer today, with MORE rain & thunderstorms. Then tonight-taper off to flurries, & full blown winter, as we're expecting below 0C by mornin on Thursday.
Then ya got Oz...1/2 the country is on fire, the other half is under water.
What a place!

Same here just south of the Mason-Dixon line.
13~16 degrees all week & several snowstorms. Yesterday was 60 & pissing down with rain.
Today sunny & 30, to-morrow supposedly sunny & 60s.

I was told by a friend who moved there that Aus is missing several seasons, compared to here. We have Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter. They have "The wet" & "The dry"Pig

ya bear - what i hate is that it rains then we go to the deep freeze and all the car doors/windows freeze solid , bad enough to have to scrape it off but when the weather stripping rips off when you force the door or the window fails to go down at the drive thru i get really pi$$#d at being here this time of year

A Sq..to prevent your weather strip from freezing on the vehicle..spray & wipe with a product called "303". It doesn't hurt the rubber at all, & wont let it freeze together. I use it round my doors, & on the weather strip across the back of the truck tonneau cover where it meets the tailgate. Do that 3 - 4 X per year & ur good.(I learned the hard way, too)

All of a sudden I'm hearing a lot about that "303 aerospace" rubber protectorant stuff. I used armorall for ever but suddenly its (supposedly) bad for rubber & this stuff is the cats pyjamas!
I've been using armorall for 20+ years & don't recall any problem. Doing a little on-line research I discovered that armorall had actually been reformulated to comply with (guess what) VOC regulations, & is now a water-based product with no UV protectionCensored. Maybe thats the difference as the old stuff seemed to work?

hoadie , thanks for that 303 advise , ill seek some out , like shamu said ive been using armorall but it seems to have lost its effectiveness in recent years , reformulation makes sense - to meet new fed regulations explains a lot - damned mother government always mucking things up for us .......

wish id saved some DDT and malathion too

Well I experienced a first this morning. Went out in the -19 weather to start my pickup (a '71 Chevy). It started up so I let it run a bit, but the power steering pump was making a little noise. Just figured it's cold it will get better. After about 10 minutes of warming up I go to take off and discover my steering is completely frozen. Guess theres a bit of moisture in the system. It took quite a while to get it thawed out.

I don't know when the reformulation happened, my bottle is several years old at this point, but still seems to work fine on ammo can seals which is mostly where I use it. I have rubbed it into the soft foam rubber weatherstrips on the Chevvys doors to prevent freezing & sticking too. Maybe it is the old stuff?

Rain here, drizzle, wind, +6C, typical rain forest stuff. I used to use the old Armorall until I heard it can crack the plastic dash pad on my 1966 Coronet, so I stopped using it altogether.

Only got to 42 today.
We rarely run the air con at night, we run it all day and the house stays cool all night, most nights.
Yeah Hoadie, I wouldnt say no to some of that air.
We havnt had any major fires this summer but I have been to a few smaller ones. last saturday I was taliking to one of the bushfire blokes in the local hardware store and commented on the small amount of action we have had this summer in regard to bushfires, 1 1/2 hour later, guess where we met? At the biggest bushfire we have had so far this year.
