First round renewal of white card licenses.

It's that time for those who got their licenses 10 years ago. Please read the notice put out by the NSA at http://www.natshoot.co.za/uploads/documents//NSA-Newsletter%20vol%2011-nr2-14-01-2015.pdf" rel="nofollow - http://www.natshoot.co.za/uploads/documents//NSA-Newsletter%20vol%2011-nr2-14-01-2015.pdf

For the rest of us, what's a white card license?

In 2000 the govt. changed the firearm control act and made us all renew our licenses which included an expiry date. 10 years for firearms not licensed for self protection and 5 years for those for self protection.
It is such a balls up. I had to do mine in 2009 and it took 3 years to process mine. Fortunately the expiry date is the date the card was printed not the date applied.
We have to jump through all these hoops just to please the politicians until the day they come and seize all our firearms.

Was figuring that it was the Democratic Republic of SA and that idiot Zuma presiding. South Africa is what SA means around this house. Not something such as South Alabama.

We constantly gripe and grouse about the laws here.  Rightly so.  However, it is important to know what firearms owners have to deal with elsewhere.  I think there are 500,000 to 600,000 hunters in the US.  A formidable army.
I am watching a series from Wales called "Hinterland" (Y Gwyll).  The police go after the bad guys without firearms.  Very different.

SA=South Africa or Republic of South Africa. Can also be abbreviated to RSA or use the international code ZA.
The UK police have a theory that if they don't carry a firearm then the criminals are less likely to carry one or shoot at them.

ya , that never really made any sense to me , but then they are liberals and so much amarter than i am , its why socialism has been so successful all over the world - at gettingstarted , but then that never explains why it always ends in ruin ,

Yeah, but where DF is, they have a very different kind of socialism there. It's called ANC.

ANC is supported by (or dictated to by) the unions, communists and socialists (can never work out the difference between the 3). Remember that the ANC held up in many countries before 1990 that were communist/socialist/dictatorship.
