Well today , We were putting fence posts in on the north property ...... We had a few spots that I needed to dog off into the water to keep the animals from going around the fence ...
Well, second to last fence post to put in..and I lost control of the post and post hole pounder and fell in and sunk the boat !!!
Damn !! That water was cold !! and I swallowed some !!!!
Well I got to the house and drank me a couple of shots of Makers Mark , thinking that will kill any thing the swamp water had in it thats bad for me !!! LOL!!
Well Son in Law got a good laugh of it !!! and Glup , the Kid I had helping us had been wishing I would fall in for all the post holes he has been digging today !!
We used rail road ties for the end poles so He was digging the holes for them !!!
Well Im sitting here thinking how funny it must have been to see me go in !!!  LOL!!

Hoadie will get a kick out of this Im sure !!! LOL!!

Watch out for water born parasites as well. There are some real nasty stuff in swamp water.

You might have to get some "White Rhino dewormer"

Rhino..your helper looks real enthused..
y'all out there in t-shirts...& we're under severe cold warning.(Means frostbite in under 10 minutes)
As for Polar Plunge..A Sq: we don't use boats...we run into the lake...over the ice @ the shore & dive in.
One day - when we're sittin around the fire @ Rhino's, I'll tell ya all about the term:"shrinkage".
It also gives you an honest "feel" of what those guys experienced in the N.Atlantic during WWII

For getting hot how about Texas it can be extreme.   I went to college with a guy from Nigeria who was always complaining about the heat of a Texas summer.   105 F/40 C  or higher in August.   When an African complains about the heat you know you are in trouble.

We could be..BIG one moving slowly south (Just crossing Lake Ontario now), has already made a mess of areas just outside town, here.
Another BIG one is approaching from the south is about to cross Lake Erie, & headed our way.
We are under severe advisories for cold & wind, & a "watch" for heavy squalls in the North St.Catharines area.
We are getting a little snow right now..but its blowing in from all directions.
Should be interesting. With my luck, the two will join up right over my place!

Hoadie !! I hope you got enough beer to make it through that snow storm !!!

First Nutria (Coypu) I ever saw was back in England. When I called the police & told them I'd seen a rat as big as a cat they didn't believe me at first. Then they told me to "just shoot the bastard" (I had a .22 rf & they knew it because of the permit & registration process). The only time I ever went rat hunting from a bedroom window withing spitting distance of Heathrow airport!Confused

It turns out they breed them for the fur in the UK. (Tip, lads, never buy the Mrs a "Winter Mink" coat, she might find out she's wearing rat fur)!

Hoadie's storm is just passing here. So far we're lucky its going round us. Off to Wally-World for bread, milk & toilet paper!Shocked

White Rhino, get a gallon of vinegar and some paper towels.

Whip yourself down with vinegar to kill the surface bugs. You will nead the help of the wife.

Next drink about a quarter cup of vinegar to kill the internal bugs.

Get a good book and have a seat in the loo.

Cleans you out good and after a good cleaning you can fart out vinegar fumes.

It worked for me when I went for a swim in a farm pond that is used by cows for drinking and wading.

My friend had problems after the swim.

I had some dry skin and lot of gas.

But as for today, I did get the fence replaced up on the front of my property...Son in Law had to go to work , so all I had was Glup to help me ....Sad thing was, Glup and Myself changed into our boots on the back of Doobies truck and left our shoes in the bed of his truck ....So I walked back to the house in my wet hip boots and so did Glup.... We showered and then when we got up Glup asked me if I happened to get our shoes out Doobies truck !!!  LOL!!!  So I had to use my good shoes , and loan him a pair of old sneakers I kept for emergencies like this .... LOL!!

Vinegar is the way to go.

Single malt a day after is fine.

Vinegar is a better cleaner than bleach and people friendly.

Not gun safe as it will remove bluing from steel.

I often need to unblock the foot valve on the pump in the slurry dam (90% pure cow dung). I have yet to get any type of mystery illness or skin rashes. I have also drunk water from elephant dung without any problems.
A good bush trick for removing unwanted passengers (tick, flees and the like) is to get two beers, a rag and some diesel or paraffin (think you yanks call it kerosene). Here is what you do:
Strip down.
Open one beer and take a few sips.
Using the rag wipe your self down with diesel or paraffin, making sure you get it in all the cracks, even between toes and behind ears.
Consume the remaining beer. Be careful not to stand too close to the camp fire. This should take at about 10 minutes.
Now have a shower or wash down with soap and water. All external passengers are gone.

I have also used diesel to avoid getting ticks on my legs. I just rub a bit up my calves and around my ankles. Just be careful as you will get one serious deep tan. Also never when you are hunting.

If farming was easy, then everyone one would do it.

I have tried the diesel (or kerosene) idea in the past but it give me skin issues.

I do spray it on my work pants and boots when I muck out the barn.
