| I recently got into shooting. Way back in my 'teens, I used to go out hunting rabbits with my high school friends. In reality I had more fun plinking than hunting. Fast forward to this year and getting my Canadian PAL. My first purchase was a '53 Tula SKS. Then I remembered the .303's hanging above the bedroom doors at my grandfather's place, so naturally my next quest was any type of Lee Enfield. Four days ago I bought a No.4 Mk.1*. I figured it would be a Longbranch, but no, its a Savage. Its missing a few pieces but all in all I'm quite satisfied. The only downside is that .303 British ammo is almost 10x the cost of 7.62x39 for my SKS. |

first - WELCOME , second - its not hard to get what you need for your number four , might get a response from a member here if you let us know what you are needing , third - post some photos wqe all live vicariously here and congrats on your buy , OH - i suppose those that hung over the door at your grandads are gone ? shame that is often the case , im pleased i have those my father bought and hung over the fireplace in my youth , i think im lucky but back then i thought it was so normal as to not be significant , amazing what a lifetime sees and in many cases sad - i would love to hang my rifles over the fireplace as my father and grandfather did ,

You can actually reload for the .303 British for pennies. Its not hard I've taught someone who never reloaded in his life in 20 minutes on a picnic bench in the woods. ------------- Don't shoot till you see the whites of their thighs. (Unofficial motto of the Royal Air Force) |

| I am just getting back 'shooting. I don't know how deep I want to get into things just yet. I wasn't quite sure if the gun was just going to go 'click' or go 'boom'- needless to say, it went 'boom', just like it was supposed to. Kinda made the SKS feel like a .22. |
