Just ordered 100 new Privi .303 brass from a place in BC, Canada. I've read on this site most think it's really good. Anybody ever try Hornady? I've got a chance to buy 100 new ones for $75. I've decided to trash all that brass I got from various gun shows. Turned out to be unreliable. Something you don't want when hunting elk or moose. You don't get to many whacks at those! Some great deals turn out to be not so great... live and learn.

The Prvi is probably the best commercial brass currently. I have not tried the Hornady though.

I use Hornady Rifle Cases exclusively.
Reason? Hornady cases have the same overall cross sectional thickness similar to Norma,Lapua, and Lake City brass. They'll withstand more reloading sessions then the other commercially available brass.

Give the Privi a fair shot, you might be pleasantly surprised. Don't be put off by the low price its decent brass.

After getting only 3-4 reloads out of the Remington cases , and the other brands a few more reloads I'm gonna try some of the Privi brand , couldn't find the Hornady in stock when I ordered. Really need to fire form before loading ,, hard to find the time sometimes ,,,, pete

Actually, in Canada, unless I got hosed when I sourced suppliers, Privi worked out to be pretty much the same price as Hornady. About $45/per 50. Winchester is about $40/per 50. I've never been a great fan of Win brass for my .303's. So I now have 100 Privi a 100 Hornady new brass for the grand total of $165 CAD. Tossed out all my bargain brass.

I just checked in the U.S.  (Graf's)  303 Privi in 28 USD for 50 and Hornady is 42 USD for 50

I've been using PPU brass for a long while; I favor it over other brands based on my experience with it. I like that I can see that it has been annealed for instance. Along with my 303 British, I currently use it with my 308 Win and 7.62x39 (both a bolt & semi-auto).

Recently, I purchased their 32 Auto, 380 Auto, 9mm Luger, and 45 Auto PPU brass. My semi-auto preference has always been MagTech (CBC), and I've been moving to Starline, but I decided to try some PPU when Graf's had quite a sale going some months ago. I bought 1K of each to see how they do.

I shoot 29 different cartridges, and my order of preference is Starline, PPU, Hornady, and then Win.

Thanks all! Sounds like I should be in good order with Prvi and Hornady!

Thanks, Pete! I've removed a couple with screw extractors but I'm always happy to add a tool!

That case was a PPU on its 13th cycle with some stout loads. I annealed the cases prior to the seventh cycle and again prior to the 12th cycle. These are the two cycle points that a neck sized case was getting tough to chamber. I use Lee dies, a Pacesetter full-length sizing die prior to the first round and then their Collet die for the intervals in between. Now, I only anneal it prior to the sixth cycle and toss it after the 10th.

If you have a separation, do something very quick about the carbon ring that will be left. I personally would not shoot the rifle until you do something about it as you will create a permanent ring in the chamber. I use JB Bore paste to remove the carbon.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the "ringed" chamber. The JB made short work of its removal.

Ease-out looks like what I would do , I've used an over sized bore brush once and an empty fire case jammed in place one time  .Ain't no fun with the wrong tools , better have it and not need it than too need it and not have it..... pete
