Well learned that a BA stamp is not Buffalo Arms but BA = Bathurst Australia. So need a little more info on this Enfield. Yep the stock got cut sanded hard but the metal looks good and the nice thing is that the number on the bolt handle and near the top of the barrel on the receiver are the Same. Ra.
Note my little dog had to stick her head into everything to see what was up on one of the pics.
Thanks in Advance.

I live in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. Around here, that rifle would go for around $250 - $275.

Zed. Hasn't the barrel been bobbed off not permitting a full wood military restoration?

Thanks for every ones thoughts on this. I do have a mag that came with it. Just did not include it in any of the pics. It is not numbered.

Where is originally from?  Rebuilt with new barrel? I'm not sure on the star and what it means.

The "*" just denotes a minor revision.
Magazine cutoff removed, long range "Volley" sights deleted & a few other little changes to the MkIII(no star).
Barrel length is an easy test.
UNLOAD THE RIFLE
Now close & lock the bolt.
Take a cleaning rod & slide it in the muzzle til it contacts the bolt face.
Mark the end of the barrel on the rod (tape or a sharpie is fine)
Pull the rod out & measure from the end to the mark.
if its 25.5 inches its un-cut.

Actually, I may have to apologize and retract for my barrel length comment. I was looking for a bayonet lug. Then realized it's a No1. Shows again my lack of knowledge on No1's.

absolutely , i had noticed the marking disc and knew what it was , also mkIII* on the wrist and rear sight sorta gave it away , but im not casting any stones here as i often miss things in the photos these days , these happen to be some really nice photos [on my monitor anyway] you are forgiven

Thanks for the input. I'm doing a gunshow Sat and Sunday so will be getting a few things out and during that time I'll check out the barrel length.

The barrel length is fine, Rocker.

To restore, the wood is hard to find and expensive these days though.

Well just followed Shamu's directions and measured the barrel length on two different Enfields and they both came out to 25 3/8. So as Pukka Bundook said barrel length looks good.
Now to think about if I want to restore this one or not. As far as the wood and other parts go I think that I have everything needed just not with the correct markings.
Thanks Again for all of the input.

Re. restore or not Rocker;

Bear in mind an armourer would use the first correct bit out of the bin full, they wouldn't try and match
factory parts, just the right part whoever made it!  I have a 1927 Lithgow, and it's as it came here from OZ, and has an odd Enfield part on it.
Just telling you this in case it helps.

^^^^this.
They were made as tools, not fine collectables, thats a modern conceit.

Well myself I'm one of those folks that likes to "try" to get them back during a restore to like it came from the factory. I have been collecting makers marks to build 1917a1 and also 1919a4's back to the they came from the factory.  So will "try" to get as "close" as possible but on Enfield's, I don't have tons of Enfield parts so "try" will have to do.
While at the gun show today, Saturday I bought two more Enfields, they were both redone. I'll try to post pics Sunday night. The one has matching numbers, bolt, barrel, receiver. Other one has been scoped. Pics later I hope.
Got home from the show to find out that a large 18inch branch came down last night on the roof on a rental we own. Working on cleaned that up has been and will be more fun over the next week.
