Greetings Gentlemen,I am soon to move foward with my king's match rifle project. As some of you may guess it will be my Ishapore 2A1.I have installed a Williams Target peep sight as the Parker-Hale ph5a is damn near impossible to get for less than $300 bucks.I am also going to install a Huber concepts match trigger. The rest of this fine rifle will remain stock.

My questions for this project are:Is it advisable to remove the rear sight base and sight protector? Will this affect accuracy and bedding too much?
As the rifle was finished in paint and is God forsaken ugly as such,I am considering Brownell's oxpho blue cold blueing as a refinish.Has anyone used this before? All videos on you-tube show very good results. What would be the better finish? Glass beaded matte or polished?
All inputs and opinions are welcome as I know all you good fellows will offer.
Hope Everyone has a good Easter weekend and Hoadie you can have my share of the ale.....Allen

I'm not a big fan of cold blue, but I'm interested in seeing pics of how it turns out. I'd beadblast it. Take care of the paint and prep the surface in one fell swoop. It'll look better than being all shiny IMHO.
For the rear sight, I'd just pull the rear sight itself and leave the base, for simplicity's sake.

Let us know how it turns out

I was somewhat leaning that way myself ArcherSix.The bead blast will give more of a matte finish which will look nice aganist the semi shine of the walnut furniture. As for the rear sight base a buddy of mine said it best yesterday "KISS" I agree.
