If you convert £ to $ that doesn't seem like a bad price.

Bear,
Some of those Martini .22's are going awful cheap at those prices. Sham, Aye, ...hard to fit back to a two-piece stock!

The Whitaker target rifles were often built from No4 T's; although not in this case. That's a good price; the sights are worth 200 pounds on there own and you get a heavy 7.62 barrel as well. Yes it's a shame the the receiver is trimmed for the single stock; but these are good target rifles. If you've got a worn barrel on a good receiver; you could build a very nice heavy 7.62 rifle in original wood or L39 replica for not much money. What's not to like? If I lived in the UK I would definitely be interested at that price.

It is not simple and you need a seller prepared to do the paperwork, and you need to be prepared to pay the extra cost. Your seller will have to apply to the Government for an export licence (even to the EU) You will also need to provide the seller with a certificate from the French Firearms controlling authorities (Police ?)stating that you can buy it. If you are going to buy it, buy in now - in 32 days it will be much, much more difficult, and, probably Tax and Duty to add as well. |

Totally agree with the Armourer on this one! With the Brexit mess; no one has any idea what's going to happen. I'm sure that gun export legislation is probably at the bottom of the Brexit "to do" list!
I have imported a few rifles from the UK in recent years. Basically you have to pay for the rifle and get the gun dealer to agree to keep it while you do the paperwork. So French side that's a Customs Import licence for firearm; this will be checked by the Police for a background check. You need the specific details of the firearm. Once you have that (probably at least 4 weeks). You get the British licence to Export (maybe 6 weeks). Best way is to get a professional to do the UK paperwork, transportation and delivery. I found a very good service for this; which takes away some of the stress. It costs around 250 pounds for the paperwork and delivery. If you consider the cost of driving over and picking it up; that's a good deal. Basically, it's got to be something you really want, to go through the process. Takes around 3 month's to get the rifle. |
