The barrel showed up at 0630 hours today!
The very interesting thing about it is the three tiny stamps on the sight protector and sight block. Two LB stamps and one Canadian Arsenal stamp. A North American manufactured barrel I am to assume? Anyways, I got the barrel fitted to the rifle and set the headspace correctly.  The barrel itself is exactly the same diameter at the muzzle bearing point as the original barrel so no additional stocking up process was necessary. The threads have no indication that it was ever mounted to a reciever and the bore has absolutely no fouling marks as well. It should be noted that the bore is tapered. 303.5" at the throat and 302.5" at the muzzle. I will test fire it tomorrow morning along with a sighting in process. The rounds being used will be LC brass primed with GM215M primers, loaded with 41.7grns of N202 powder, and topped with Sierra 168grn SMK bullets.  (This gives me a 80% case capacity.) I trimmed the cases to 1.98" and set a C.O.L. of 2.755".  Norma reloading tables give me projected psi of 39,800 on the Piezo Scale.  The anxiety and tension I am currently experiencing is very high... Side Note: The barrel is six grooves with a 1-12" righthand twist.

It still balances on the king screw.

Is it an optical Illusion or is that front sight canted by quite a bit?

A .303 bore with 6 groove rifling is very interesting.  Long Branch made some 6 groove .303 barrels in the 1950’s, there is one of these barrels on my Dad’s No. 4(T).   I wonder if one of those blanks was used for this barrel...

Can you slug the bore and find out what the groove diameter is?  You might be able to use .311 bullets if .308 bullets don’t shoot well.

DCRA also rechambered .303 barrels to 7.62 but that required machining the shoulder and breach face back which would shorten the barrel.

Goosic, I don’t know how you get these rifles built so fast!  That would have taken me a week to do.

glad your barrel showed up from the postal black hole.  curious, did you receive any tracking alerts after it disappeared or did it just show up at your door?

The only tracking I had was to say that it was arriving late, until yesterday morning when it said,"delivered."

Figured as much. Numrich will send some stuff to Canada, unfortunately not that rig. I can order it off Amazon.ca, but after some research, although it appears quality is excellent, it's made in China. I've been on a self imposed boycott of products from that country for the last eight months and have no plans to reverse that. Maybe there's a repo made in another country?
