the farm pig will revert back to the wild faster than any domestic animal, we are talking about something growing beyond its normal size, but like tony said it takes time and natural selection in the direction of size. like getting bigger or smaller. and also taking a proper picture helps too.

Hatchetman,
We have puma on my property. They can weigh over 200 pounds. One followed me around once while I was checking on the property. I saw the tracks in the snow when I returned along the same path I walked out on. Since the snow was still falling, it couldn't have been very far behind me.Shocked

Hoadie,
That might be true, but we have several pumas in town, they've been seen in the daytime in people's yards. Quite a few dogs have been killed. I don't think these cats are that skittish.

1 on 1 a dog(usually teid,as well) under normal circumastances wouldnt be much of a match against a mountain lion.,outwiegh,outreach,outbite.
Normally they are nocturnal.Now-if they're habitat/food sources are under duress-so are they.
They may take a target of opportunity...but they dont like to be around man.
There HAS been a case or 2 over the years of a starved & nearly blind cougar has gone after a small child..but that is an extreme rarity-not the norm by ANY means.
The town would be better off to try to trap & re-locate these cats.
There is mounting evidence HERE that we may have a few returning to the province..but @ this point it seems inconclusive. Not sure if its exotic pets released/escaped..or natural return.Getting livestock with the classic attack marks..& even a case of positive DNA
